Monitoring the COVID-19 Positivity Rate
If you've been keeping up with the news from coronavirus.illinois.gov, you're aware that June 26th was when Illinois officially entered phase 4 of the 5-phase plan to reopen the economy. Restaurants, offices, factories, and more are all now allowed to operate at limited capacities, provided they meet the guidelines of the IDPH. What you may not know is that, in the best-case scenario, we won't be moving onto phase 5 until 2021. Here's a quote pulled from their page on what will allow us to officially enter phase 5 and thus, return to normalcy: “[we’ll need a] vaccine, effective and widely available treatment, or the elimination of new cases over a sustained period of time through herd immunity or other factors.
